Jim Corbett National Park, located in India’s north-west corner, is a popular tourist destination. The oldest park in India, it is home to many animals including tigers and leopards. The weather is mild all year long, but winter is the best time to go.
Cool weather is ideal for exploring the whole sanctuary. You can have fun seeing different species of wildlife during your safari rides.
During the summer and winter, the park is open. However, it closes during the monsoon (the core zones are closed but guests can still access the buffer zone). The monsoon brings heavy rains to Ramnagar. This makes the roads very slippery, dangerous and even washed-out in some areas of the park.
It is not recommended to visit the park in monsoon seasons, as your Jeep may easily become stuck in the mud. The core zone (Dhikala and Bijrani), which is the most popular part of the park, remains closed in this season.
The buffer zones Dhela, and Jhirna are still open to guests. If you’re an adventurer and would like to visit the park when it is less crowded, you can do so during Monsoon.

Which Safari is better – morning or evening safari?
You may be wondering whether the Morning Safari or the Evening Safari is better. Both are great but the morning safari allows you to explore the park for four hours and thirty minutes, while the evening safari gives you between three and four hours.
A morning Safari is the best option if you want to see tigers. They are more active during this time. The tiger will go to the waterholes to drink in the morning.
In the morning, you can also see other animals and birds because they’re looking for food.
