Best Things to Do in Reno

Reno, located on the northwestern outskirts of Nevada, is referred to as Las Vegas’s little sister. Yes, they both have casinos and a mood for all-around entertainment, but Reno offers a few distinct places to visit. In reality, the best things to do in Reno aren’t limited to the city limits; the entire region has plenty to offer.

Whatever leads you to Reno, the most essential thing is that you make the most of your time there. So, to help you make the most of your visit, I’ve compiled a list of the greatest things to do in Reno after you arrive.

Plan a trip to this beautiful city of Reno with Spirit Airlines Group Travel and enjoy your days here!

Best Things to Do in Reno:

1. National Automobile Museum

If you enjoy vehicles and antique rides, the National Automobile Museum will be up your alley! The museum has now divided the automobile exhibits into four halls. One of these parts houses the Off-road Motorsports Hall of Fame, as well as many other race cars. Keep a lookout for the King’s Eldorado, Elvis Presley. It’s a beautiful site, but if you’re not like cars, you should skip it. It’s car-heavy, and you might find it boring.

2. Nevada Museum of Art

It’s a gaming-centered misconception! Yes, it has a lot of that, but it also has a lot of other great sites that are overlooked on a trip to the city. One of these is the Nevada Museum of Art.

The museum, which is known for its unusual collections and its involvement in holding national and international exhibitions, offers a profound, visual, and cultural experience that is cool to witness. E.L. Wiegand’s work and Sierra Nevada/Great Basin art are among the treasures on display at the museum.

3. Mount Rose Ski Resort

Who said you couldn’t visit a city and also go skiing? Mount Rose Ski Resort, located about 20 miles from Reno’s downtown region, offers stunning scenery and exhilarating skiing routes ideal for a day on the slopes. Mountain Rose is now regarded as one of the highest ski resorts in the Tahoe region. This all adds up to some ideal skiing conditions.

One thing to consider is the number of people who came. The number of people grows during peak season, making the resort rather busy. Avoid weekends if you’d like to steer clear of crowds.

4. Truckee River Walk

The Truckee River District is one of Reno’s busiest neighbourhoods and an excellent place to take a walk. It’s a beautiful site along the Truckee River, and it’s well worth a look (especially in the afternoon). You see, you may visit the pubs and cafes in this area before visiting the art galleries, museums, and theatre. You may walk here after visiting the Automobile Museum.

5. Rancho San Rafael Park

Rancho San Rafael is the best location for desert views and mountain scenery. The two original ranch buildings that still stand on the property are one of the park’s features. But that’s not the only thing going on in the park.

You may join the very easy Evans Canyon Trail, or you can go to the Wilbur D. May Centre, which is fantastic for seeing their collections and botanic garden. Also, if you visit in September, don’t miss The Great Reno Balloon Race, which takes place within the park. It’s one of the top things to do in Reno and one of the largest balloon festivals in the world.

6. Idlewild Park

Another of Nevada’s recreational treasures is located alongside the Truckee River. Idlewild Park is a 50-acre park that has been open for 100 years. It’s a much more relaxed atmosphere than downtown Reno, and it’s well worth a visit for a more peaceful day in the city.

If that’s not your thing, go see a game at the Reno Aces Ballpark! It’s the home of the Reno Aces and a terrific place to get a taste of baseball. But, as a Brit, I have to admit that I had no idea what was going on. But it’s still a lot of fun! If you are unable to attend a game, tours of the ballpark are offered.
